Vinden Wines Hunter Valley Chardonnay 2023
Sourced from two of the Hunter's most storied vineyards, fermented in a concrete pyramid alongside French and Austrian oak.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay, sourced from the Somerset Vineyard and Oakey Creek Vineyard.
Taste Profile: Fine and textural, with citrus and stone fruit at the core, layered with a creamy, spiced complexity built through extended lees contact — a modern, restrained take on Hunter Chardonnay.
Winemaking Process: The fruit was handpicked and pressed, with the juice transferred directly to large format, tight grain French and Austrian oak and a concrete pyramid, where the wine underwent fermentation. During the seven month élevage, bâtonnage was conducted to build complexity.
Winemaker: Vinden Wines was founded in 1990 and is now run by second-generation winemaker Angus Vinden, who took over in 2015. Alongside the traditional Vinden Estate label, he also produces the more experimental Vinden Headcase range, balancing Hunter tradition with newer technique. This Chardonnay draws on two of his family's key sites, Somerset and Oakey Creek, and the concrete pyramid fermentation is a good example of the newer techniques he's not afraid to bring into an otherwise traditional Hunter style.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
