The richest bourgeois you've ever come across.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sauvignon Blanc from old vines growing in silex soils on slopes first worked by the monks of Saint-Satur, in Sancerre, Loire Valley. The flinty soils give the wine great minerality, intensity and excellent ageing potential.
Taste Profile: Clear pale yellow colour. A shot of gunflint aromas opens the bouquet before it branches out to subtly spicy and woody scents. Full-bodied and balanced, with vibrant acidity, intense fruit flavours and an unwavering minerality. Crisp green apple, zesty grapefruit, wild gooseberry and honey flavours linger long into a persistent finish.
Winemaking Process: Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are pressed and left to settle at cold temperature. A portion of the wine ferments in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, the rest in French oak barrels from the famous Tronçais forest. Ages 7–8 months on fine lees in oak, with periodic hand-stirring of the lees (bâtonnage), before bottling.
Winemaker: The Bourgeois family are into their tenth generation of winemaking in Chavignol. It was Henri Bourgeois himself who, in the 1950s, took the audacious step of expanding beyond the family's two hectares on the slopes of Chavignol and put his name on wines from what was then an unheralded corner of Sancerre. His sons Jean-Marie and Rémi joined him in the 1960s, discovering new terroirs and forging partnerships with other Sancerre families, and today Jean-Marie's own sons Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois run the domaine — heirs to that expansion and, in their own right, the ones who took the family's ambitions all the way to New Zealand with the Clos Henri estate in Marlborough.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
