Champagne Le Mesnil Cœur de Mesnil Grand Cru Millésime 2012
The 'heart of Mesnil' — a no-malo cuvée that just won Grand Or and the Palme d'Or at the 2026 Vinalies.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay Grand Cru, but not the village-wide blend — Cœur de Mesnil is drawn specifically from vines with a southerly aspect at the literal heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the Côte des Blancs, on the same pure chalk that defines the village. 'Cœur' isn't just branding here: this is a tighter, more selective cut of the vineyard than Le Mesnil's standard cuvées.
Taste Profile: Dark gold in the glass, with a fine, persistent rather than aggressive bead. The nose goes straight to viennoiserie — candied lemon, honey, brioche. On the palate the attack is direct without excess, minerality present but never blunt: unmistakably mature Chardonnay, expressive without tipping into exuberance. No malolactic fermentation keeps the wine's structure intact over time, with the dosage there to polish rather than sweeten.
Winemaking Process: Tirage in 2013, aged on lees for roughly twelve years before disgorgement in June 2025, with no malolactic fermentation to preserve the wine's long-term structure. Dosage sits at 7.8g/L. This cuvée is bottled in both 750ml and magnum format, and it isn't just a marketing flourish — it just took Grand Or with the Palme d'Or at the 2026 Vinalies.
Winemaker: Le Mesnil is the trading name of the Union des Propriétaires Récoltants, a growers' cooperative founded in 1937 in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Today it draws on roughly 600 growers farming around 300 hectares — 100% of it now classified Grand Cru. For decades the cooperative has quietly supplied base wines to some of Champagne's most prestigious houses, including Krug, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger, while also bottling its own cuvées under the Le Mesnil name since the 1950s.

Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
