Champagne Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Prestige 2008 1.5L Magnum
The same 40-year-vine, no-malo formula as the 2007 — in magnum, from a vintage prized for its grapefruit-bright drive.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay, blended specifically from vines averaging around 40 years old on south-facing plots at the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger — the same Grand Cru, chalk-soil Côte des Blancs terroir behind every Le Mesnil bottling, but a deliberately old-vine, single-character selection built for Le Mesnil's top tier.
Taste Profile: Explodes from the glass with ripe citrus — grapefruit especially — apple and a deep, intense minerality that's pure Mesnil chalk. Skipping malolactic fermentation keeps every bit of that citrus-driven Chardonnay character on show, while extended lees ageing builds a fine, persistent mousse against genuinely chalky acidity. A delicate Brut dosage leaves it dry and taut rather than soft.
Winemaking Process: Blended from Le Mesnil's oldest, most southerly-facing vineyard plots and deliberately vinified without malolactic fermentation, to keep every ounce of Chardonnay's citrus character intact. The wine then rests over seven years on its lees before a delicate Brut dosage at disgorgement. This is the same Cuvée Prestige formula as the 2007 vintage, bottled in magnum from the 2008 harvest.
Winemaker: Le Mesnil is the trading name of the Union des Propriétaires Récoltants, a growers' cooperative founded in 1937 in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Today it draws on roughly 600 growers farming around 300 hectares — 100% of it now classified Grand Cru. For decades the cooperative has quietly supplied base wines to some of Champagne's most prestigious houses, including Krug, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger, while also bottling its own cuvées under the Le Mesnil name since the 1950s.

Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
