Champagne Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut Millésime 2014
A cooler, tenser vintage bottled with a deliberately low dosage — 2014 Le Mesnil at its most precise.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay Grand Cru, drawn from across Le Mesnil-sur-Oger's roughly 300 hectares — farmed by around 600 growers and, remarkably, 100% classified Grand Cru. Le Mesnil sits at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, on a bed of pure chalk that gives Chardonnay both sharp drainage and the mineral backbone this village is famous for. 2014 was a cooler, more restrained vintage than the powerhouse 2012 or 2018, but a sun-soaked September saved the harvest and delivered precise, elegant, age-worthy fruit.
Taste Profile: Golden robe with fine, persistent bubbles. Toasted brioche leads on the nose, carrying through to a palate of dried fruit that reads as unctuous rather than heavy, with real length. The finish is where the low 6.5g/L dosage does its job — persistent, tense and mineral, letting 2014's Chardonnay character speak for itself rather than dressing it up.
Winemaking Process: Tirage in 2015, disgorged in May 2023 — around eight years resting on lees before release. The dosage was kept deliberately low at 6.5g/L, a choice that favours tension and transparency over roundness.
Winemaker: Le Mesnil is the trading name of the Union des Propriétaires Récoltants, a growers' cooperative founded in 1937 in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Today it draws on roughly 600 growers farming around 300 hectares — 100% of it now classified Grand Cru. For decades the cooperative has quietly supplied base wines to some of Champagne's most prestigious houses, including Krug, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger, while also bottling its own cuvées under the Le Mesnil name since the 1950s.

Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
