VIK Milla-Cala Millahue 2021
A lush blend of Chile's signature red grape, Carmenère, layered with Old World varietals.
Grape Varietals & Region: Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère with small percentages of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah, from VIK's vineyards in the Cachapoal Valley, Chile. The deep, porous, decomposed granitic soils drain well, and a temperate Mediterranean climate carries a marine influence from the Pacific.
Taste Profile: Medium-deep crimson to brick red colour. Red plum and strawberry on the nose, with floral notes of lavender and violet. Firm in texture, with velvety yet focused tannins and a silky mouthfeel, carrying vibrant, luscious cassis, black cherry and dark plum flavours alongside complementary nutty notes and a touch of mocha.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested and sorted, then gently pressed. Ages 20 months in French oak barrels. Best decanted an hour before serving or cellared up to a decade.
Winemaker: Viña VIK was founded in 2006 by Norwegian entrepreneur Alexander Vik and his wife Carrie, who spent years searching before settling on 4,300 hectares in the Millahue Valley — Mapuche for “place of gold” — within Chile's Cachapoal Valley. Chilean winemaker Cristián Vallejo, previously of Château Margaux, was brought in to oversee viticulture and continues to harvest by hand and ferment with native yeasts, while the estate's striking winery, designed by architect Smiljan Radic, mirrors the ambition behind the wine.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
