Domaine Duseigneur "Odyssée" Rouge 2022
Named for the odyssey that built the estate — Jean Duseigneur's journey across the Mediterranean in 1967 — this is Bernard's biodynamic take on old-school, cement-aged Côtes-du-Rhône.
Grape Varietals & Region: Grenache (60–80% depending on vintage) and Syrah (20–40%), off around 30-year-old vines on a north-facing hillside near Saint-Victor-la-Coste, on the Rhône's right bank — sandy-clay soil studded with rolled pebbles, ringed by forest. Technically this is Côtes-du-Rhône Villages rather than the family's home turf of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but it's farmed with the same biodynamic hand as everything else at the domaine — Duseigneur has been Biodyvin-certified since 2002, among the earliest wave of biodynamic converts in the southern Rhône.
Taste Profile: Black raspberry, spring flowers, white pepper and spice on the nose, with a savoury, faintly menthol edge underneath. The palate is ample and warm, fleshy and silky, with real structure that never tips into heaviness. Good with something rustic — a daube, grilled lamb, or a proper hard cheese.
Winemaking Process: Yields kept low, around 30hl/ha. Hand-harvested and partially destemmed, with each variety fermented separately in cement vats on native yeasts before blending — no oak involved, so what comes through is fruit and terroir rather than barrel spice.
Winemaker: Bernard Duseigneur runs the estate his father Jean built from nothing in 1967, after Jean left his homeland on the other side of the Mediterranean to start again in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Bernard pushed the domaine into biodynamics early and named this cuvée after that founding journey. "Through wine, Nature offers us a sublime and unique chance to create and share emotions," he says of the project — heavy on philosophy, but the wine backs it up.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
