Crossover Blendery is located at Lannock Manor Farm in rural North Hertfordshire, UK. A beautiful, quiet place surrounded by rolling arable fields and small pockets of pasture.
Founded by George and Charlie in 2018, Crossover Blendery is focused on producing complex beers that challenge and intrigue the drinker. They produce 100% spontaneously fermented beers aged in traditional vessels, such as oak barrels, for many years.
An emphasis is made on working with high-quality British ingredients. And the provenance of the ingredients is equally important. Farmers and growers are worked with directly, and an effort is made to source as close to the Blendery as possible.
Their work is seasonal: brew in the cold months and fruit in the warm. Each beer made is of that year and season and cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.
These beers are a labour of love and incredibly time-consuming to produce. The way their beer is made and its eventual flavour characteristics blur the lines between beer and other fermented alcoholic beverages. Many of the techniques, methods and concepts behind wine/cider/perry are also found in their process. As a result, they emphasise the ‘crossing over’ of beer into these other drinks, which are often considered a distant and superior or inferior cousin.
In April 2022, they opened the Blendery Taproom. It is a truly unique space where everyone is welcome to relax and enjoy a drink.
