Grüner Veltliner that spent ten days getting to know Riesling skins before anyone let it settle down.
Grape Varietals & Region: Grüner Veltliner co-fermented on the skins of estate Riesling, grown on the primary rock — weathered gneiss and loess — soils around Strass im Straßertale in Kamptal, Austria. Kamptal's push-pull of cool Waldviertel air and warmer Pannonian influence is exactly what lets Grüner Veltliner keep its white-pepper snap even once a winemaker starts getting ideas about skin contact.
Taste Profile: Green apple skin, chamomile, bruised pear and orange pith, with a faint white pepper note carrying through to a saline, gently grippy finish — a light tannic texture from the skins without tipping into heavy orange-wine territory.
Winemaking Process: Grüner Veltliner is whole-cluster pressed, then macerated on hand-separated Riesling skins for around ten days before pressing off — a genuine co-ferment rather than a blend of two finished wines. Left unfined and unfiltered, so a little cloudiness in the glass is by design, not an accident.
Winemaker: Martin Arndorfer took over his family's Kamptal cellar and, together with his wife Anna, has spent recent vintages testing how far a very Austrian grape can travel — this bottling being the clearest example, giving Grüner Veltliner the kind of skin-contact fuss usually reserved for orange-wine specialists elsewhere in Europe.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
