Weinhof Szemes Weiss Grünschiefer Eisenberg DAC 2024
A white wine grown on the same green-schist soil that makes Eisenberg's Blaufränkisch famous — a quieter side of the appellation.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 50% Welschriesling & 50% Chardonnay, grown on Grünschiefer (green schist) sites on the Eisenberg in Austria's Südburgenland, the same iron-rich soil responsible for the region's benchmark Blaufränkisch.
Taste Profile: Fresh and mineral-driven, in keeping with the taut, stony character green-schist sites tend to give Eisenberg's white wines — bright and food-friendly rather than broad or heavy.
Yellow-green color. On the nose green apple, ripe kiwi and saline notes. On the palate fresh, salty and mineral, with flavors of ripe apple and white peach. Long, vibrant finish with subtle herbal nuances and excellent balance.
Winemaking Process: Fermented with the same restrained, traditional hand Szemes applies across the range — minimal new oak, an emphasis on letting the green schist terroir carry the wine rather than winemaking technique. Fermented in large oak casks, aged 5 months in large oak and 6 months in stainless steel tanks.
Winemaker: Anna and Oscar Szemes have built their reputation on Eisenberg's red wines, but this white shows the same site-first instinct applied to the appellation's less-discussed side — proof that Grünschiefer soil has more than one story to tell.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
