Description

Blankbottle Pink Bomb 2022

This is the 'Pink' member of Blankbottle's The Bomb range. A solid 14.5% alcohol Piekenierskloof Grenache noir Rose, please do not judge the wine by it's alcohol... It is on the high side but the wine is in 100% balance. Fresh as a daisy.

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Grenache Noir. Single Vineyard 687m above sea-level, old bush-vine on sandstone soil in the Piekenierskloof.

Taste Profile: This higher-than-usual alcohol rosé is fresh as a daisy and exudes balance and a full body. It's an elegant and fruity wine with a punch.

Winemaking Process: The grapes were picked at optimal ripeness and cooled overnight to 4 degrees celsius. The next morning the grapes were destemmed and crushed to an open top fermenter. As the tank filled we removed/pumped the free run juice into another tank. Spontaneous fermentation in old French oak barrels, aged on the lees for 10 months - blended and bottled.

Crisp & Dry Rosé

Provence rose is going to be the classic representation of this wine style. Usually, these roses emit a salmon pink hue, and Cinsault is a common grape varietal to make these wines, but Syrah & Pinot noir are other rising varietals to produce wines in a similar style
