Domaine Gerard Fiou Pouilly-Fume AOP Autochtone 2023
Domaine Gérard Fiou is a private family estate that was founded by the ancestors of Gérard Fiou. Today, the wine estate, 10 hectares in size and with 100% silex substrate, is entirely in the hands of the Bourgeois family
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The Pouilly Fumé appellation is located on the upper reaches of the Loire and is rightly a stronghold for Sauvignon Blanc. The limestone and flint soils give the wines a very special style, which often has a smoky note, but is always very mineral.
Taste Profile: Youthful pale yellow colour with tints of green, a floral bouquet reveals aromas of passion fruit and grapefruit, mineral notes andgreen bell pepper (typical of Sauvignon Blanc), sustained acidity and liveliness as well as refreshing, hints of lime, great character, a straight yet very expressive wine that is long on the palate.
Winemaking Process: Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, this wine is aged on its fine fermentation lees, which are regularly put back into suspension by stirring for over 6 months.
