Wine & Soul Guru Branco 2024
A field blend of four native Douro whites grown on 58-year-old schist vines, 600 metres up on a north-facing slope.
Grape Varietals & Region: A field blend of 25% Viosinho, 25% Rabigato, 25% Códega do Larinho and 25% Gouveio from 58-year-old schist soil vineyards on north-facing slopes at 600 metres in Portugal's Douro region.
Taste Profile: Very seductive and elegant, with aromas of white flowers, grapefruit, lime and a beautiful mineral touch. Very long on the palate with great texture and aftertaste. Best cellared for up to 7 years.
Winemaking Process: Harvested in the first week of September, the fruit undergoes selection and partial destemming before pressing in a pneumatic press. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in French oak barrels (10% new) over 4 weeks, followed by 7 months of ageing with bâtonnage.
Winemaker: Wine & Soul was founded in 2001 by Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, a young couple with no vineyards and no wine, but a shared dream to seek out exceptional old Douro sites. Sandra became the Douro's first female winemaker after training at Quinta do Vale D. Maria and her family's Chocapalha estate, while Jorge, a fifth-generation Douro winemaker, previously worked as oenologist at Niepoort. Their first wine, Pintas, was named after the couple's restless English Pointer.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
