Cellers Can Blau "Mas de Can Blau" 2014
A Rhône-style blend from a Jumilla family's first venture into the steep hillsides of Montsant.
Grape Varietals & Region: 35% Mazuelo, 35% Syrah and 30% Garnacha, from a small selection of estate vines 35-50 years old, at roughly 2,000 feet along the sloping sides of the Sierra de Montsant, D.O. Montsant, Spain.
Taste Profile: Dark cherry in colour, pursuing a balance between warm macerated fruit and the memory of the soil beneath it. Full, concentrated and rich on the palate, without tipping into excess.
Winemaking Process: Each varietal is hand-harvested and fermented separately, then transferred to new French oak barrels for 18 months of ageing.
Winemaker: Cellers Can Blau was founded in 2003 by the Gil family, better known for their Jumilla estates, as one of their first projects outside that region, aiming to capture Montsant's unique terroir through blends of Garnacha, Mazuelo and Syrah. The estate farms around 99 acres on the slopes of the Sierra de Montsant, most vines averaging 40 years old, under the guidance of oenologist Nuria López Sarroca, who has made Can Blau a reference point for approachable yet authentic Montsant reds.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
