Torbreck Old Vines Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre 2022
Three Rhône grapes, vines up to a century old, three different Barossa sub-regions kept apart until the final blend.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 62% Grenache, 26% Shiraz and 12% Mourvèdre, hand-harvested from old vines — some as much as 100 years old — across the Barossa Valley sub-regions of Marananga, Gomersal and Ebenezer, South Australia. A wet spring replenished sub-soil moisture, while a warm, dry Indian summer created ideal ripening conditions through to harvest, producing an outstanding vintage of intense, well-structured reds.
Taste Profile: Rich black cherries and red berries lead, with hints of earthy leather and spice. Elegantly styled, with attractive, persistent fruit flavours and wonderful spicy notes. Medium-full bodied, with fresh, lively acidity and a silky texture, closing on a long finish of subtle leather and wood.
Winemaking Process: As each parcel of grapes arrives at the winery, it's fermented separately in a combination of open-top cement and wooden vats as well as stainless steel tanks. The wine ages 24 months in well-seasoned French oak hogsheads, with each parcel kept apart throughout vinification until the final blend is assembled and bottled.
Winemaker: Torbreck was founded in 1994 by David Powell, a former Scottish Highlands lumberjack who discovered abandoned old vines in the Barossa while working at Rockford Wines in the early 1990s. Lacking capital to buy fruit outright, he began share-farming across the valley instead, eventually assembling one of the Barossa's most respected rosters of growers and helping resurrect some of the region's oldest vineyards.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
