Weinhof Szemes Gruner Veltliner vom Schiefer 2021
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Gruner Veltliner from Mittelburgenland, Austria. The fruit is grown on mica slate soils, giving it austerity, elegance and saltiness.
Taste Profile: The nose has great depth with pear and earthy elements. Ripe apple and apricot flavours fill the palate, before leading to layers of delicate blossom honey and white pepper. Fine acidity and good length.
Winemaking Process: After fermentation, it is stored on the yeast for several months before being bottled fruity, fresh and naturally cloudy. This wine is stored for 6-8 months in small oak barrels from where it is then bottled directly and unfiltered.
From the limestone character of Sancerre to the green, herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc of Marlborough, this style group often shows off cut grass and wet stone. Often associated with coastal regions or limestone based terroir, these wines are characterised with crisp acidity, mineraiity, citrus tones, with a hint of grassiness
WINES FROM UNIQUE REGIONS & BOUTIQUE WINERIES
