A Syrian-Lebanese family's dream of a Bordeaux estate ended up back home in the Bekaa Valley instead.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, from Château Marsyas' estate vineyards in the southern Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, on a plateau between Mount Lebanon and the Anti-Lebanon range at 900 metres altitude. Geologists read the Bekaa as an alluvial plain cradled between the two mountain ranges, with red, clay-limestone bedrock soil well suited to the vines.
Taste Profile: A light yellow colour with green reflections. Elegant mineral, citrus and light white fruit aromas lead into a dry palate with fresh acidity and smooth structure, delivering zesty lemon citrus and fresh white peach flavours with a beautiful chalky minerality, closing on a persistent mineral finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are picked by hand and arrive at the winery in small crates, sorted once in the vineyard and again on arrival. Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel, with three months of lees contact and no oak ageing.
Winemaker: Château Marsyas was launched in 2005 by Johnny R. Saadé, joined by his sons Sandro and Karim. The Saadé family's mercantile roots trace back to the coastal Syrian city of Latakia in the 18th and 19th centuries; they first considered building an estate in Bordeaux before being drawn back to their Levantine roots and settling in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley instead, releasing their first vintage in 2007. The wines are made with the help of Bordeaux consultant winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
