Domaine Antoine Sunier Régnié "Montmerond" 2021
A former telecoms executive who traded thirteen years behind a desk for 2.7 hectares in Beaujolais.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Gamay from 60-year-old certified organic vines on shallow, stony granitic soil at 350 metres altitude, facing south, on the 1.3-hectare Montmerond lieu-dit in Régnié, Beaujolais, France.
Taste Profile: Notes of amarena cherry, raspberry, a hint of leather and soft spices. A superb palate, velvety and long, with a perfect tannin-acidity balance — delicious already, but built to age superbly.
Winemaking Process: Carbonic maceration for 10 to 15 days, soft horizontal pressing over one day, then maturation on fine lees for 12 months in old Burgundy barrels that have seen several wines, followed by a month of blending. Bottled at the estate without fining or filtration.
Winemaker: Antoine Sunier, born in 1979, spent 13 years in telecoms before his brother Julien Sunier's own Beaujolais estate inspired a career change. He left his executive role at Bouygues Télécom to train in viticulture and winemaking in Beaune, apprenticed at Château de Prémeaux, and learned winemaking from natural wine pioneer Jean-Claude Lapalu. In 2014 he bought a house, cellar and small vineyard in Régnié, farming without additives and lightly sulphiting only at bottling; he was certified organic in 2020 and has quickly become one of the leading names in Beaujolais natural wine.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
