Named for the village where its Saperavi grapes ripen slowly on the fertile bank of the Alazani river.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Saperavi, cultivated on vineyards in Mukuzani, on the fertile north bank of the Alazani river in Kakheti, Georgia — one of the world's oldest wine-growing regions, dating back more than 7,000 years. Grapes here are left on the vine until the beginning of October before harvest.
Taste Profile: A pomegranate colour with a scent of red fruits and oak tones. A rich palette of ripe berries, blackcurrant and plums mellows down into lingering luscious blackberry flavours and spicy oak, with well-integrated acidity and tannins that pair well across a range of dishes.
Winemaking Process: The wine ages in the very best oak for three years, a long maturation that builds the spice and depth characteristic of Mukuzani-style Saperavi.
Winemaker: Schuchmann Wines was founded in 2008 by German industrialist Burkhard Schuchmann, who first discovered Georgian wine while travelling through the country as a student and fell in love with its landscape and 8,000-year winemaking heritage. He hired native Georgian winemaker Dr. Gogi Dakishvili, a third-generation vigneron, to run production at the winery's estate in Kisiskhevi, Kakheti, blending traditional Georgian technique with German precision.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
