Domaine Garon Syrah "Les Grandes Parcelles" 2019
A baby Côte-Rôtie from large plots on the appellation's steep, sun-soaked slopes.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Syrah from large plots on steep, sun-soaked vineyards in Ampuis, in the heart of Côte-Rôtie. The vineyard sits at 150–250 metres altitude in a continental climate, on gneiss, granite and schist soils.
Taste Profile: Opens with a blackberry and violet floral nose. An elegant palate with fine tannins, nice tension and a fleshy texture; complexity builds with intense black cherry, blackberry and black pepper flavours, closing in a long, balanced and savoury finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand harvesting followed by traditional and gentle vinification, with deliberately subtle oak ageing to preserve the fruit.
Winemaker: The Garon family's winemaking roots in Ampuis trace back to 1475, and the domaine has held its Côte-Rôtie vines since 1836. The property lay fallow for decades until Jean-François and Carmen Garon revived it in the early 1980s, clearing and replanting the hillsides by hand and bottling their first vintage in 1995. Their sons Kévin and Fabien have since joined the domaine, growing its Côte-Rôtie holdings from 2 to 8 hectares across parcels including Le Mollard, Le Combard, Lancement, La Triote and Le Goutay.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
