Donnafugata "Sherazade" 2021
Named for the storyteller who talked her way out of 1,001 nights with a murderous king.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Nero d'Avola from the Contessa Entellina estate and neighbouring territories in southwestern Sicily. The vines grow at 200–400 metres altitude on hilly clay loam and limestone soils, in a climate of mild winters, little rainfall, and warm, dry, ventilated summers with a wide swing between daytime and night-time temperatures.
Taste Profile: A brilliant ruby red colour with violet reflections. Opens with a fruity nose of red plum, cherry and light notes of spice and balsamic, following through to a fleshy, full-bodied palate with extraordinary freshness and fine-grained tannins. Ageing potential of 3–4 years.
Winemaking Process: Manual harvest, vinified in stainless steel with skin maceration for about 6–8 days at 24–25°C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages 4 months in tank and at least 3 months in bottle.
Winemaker: Donnafugata was founded in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, a fourth-generation member of a Marsala winemaking family dating to 1851, and his wife Gabriella, whose inherited vineyards in Contessa Entellina became the estate's foundation. Their children José and Antonio have led the company since 1990, continuing to farm the same Sicilian hills that gave the winery its name and story.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
