A captivating dialogue between two of Sicily’s oldest native reds — Nero d’Avola’s structure meets Frappato’s perfume in the island’s only DOCG.
Grape Varietals & Region: 70% Nero d’Avola (Sicily’s king red grape) and 30% Frappato (one of the island’s most ancient varieties), grown under the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG — Sicily’s sole DOCG appellation, centred on the town of Vittoria in the island’s southeast, where sandy-calcareous soils and a hot, dry climate give Nero d’Avola its backbone while letting Frappato keep things light and fragrant.
Taste Profile: Bright red colour with light purple reflections. Black cherry, plum and raspberry lead the bouquet, laced with pink flowers and black pepper. Silky, well-integrated tannins make it flashy and round on the palate — juicy, refined, and dangerously easy to drink. Best paired with grilled meats, aged pecorino, or a simple tomato-based pasta.
Winemaking Process: Vinified in stainless steel with 10 days of skin maceration at 25–28°C, keeping the wine’s fruit and florals vivid. Aged 8 months in tank plus at least 7 months in bottle before release, with an ageing potential of 4–5 years.
Winemaker: Donnafugata was founded in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, fourth generation of a family making Marsala since 1851, together with his wife Gabriella — pioneers of quality Sicilian viticulture. Since 1990 the estate has been carried forward by their children, José and Antonio Rallo, who named this cuvée for the “dialogue” between Sicily’s two most characterful native reds.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
