A South African answer to Bordeaux, built from seven Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards at different altitudes.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of seven different Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards from South Africa at varying heights above sea level, with a splash of Cabernet Franc. First made in 2015 with six vineyards in the final blend, the mix of sites and proportions shifts from year to year in pursuit of ripeness without the "Green Monster" — Cabernet Sauvignon's unwelcome herbaceous streak.
Taste Profile: A complex nose of black fruit, cassis and cedar, with a full-bodied and silky palate of black currant, plum and a hint of tobacco. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, leading to a long and elegant finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes from each vineyard are pressed and vinified separately, then aged in French oak for a year and a half, picked mainly when the fruit tasted best rather than to a fixed date.
Winemaker: Blankbottle is the project of Pieter H. Walser, who studied winemaking at Stellenbosch University in his mid-twenties after years spent drifting between farming and surfing. Owning no vineyards of his own, Walser scours the Cape Winelands for compelling parcels — sourcing from around 60 different sites and 35 varieties in a single vintage — and deliberately leaves grape varieties off most of his labels, preferring people taste the wine for what it is rather than what they expect.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
