A microclimate blend of three unique vineyards, built for concentration without losing precision.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Malbec from three vineyards: Lunlunta at 920m (loamy clay over rounded rocks), El Cepillo, Eugenio Bustos at 1,090m (loam-sandy soil with thick calcareous layers over rounded rocks) and Gualtallary at 1,450m (gravel and limestone over rounded rocks) in Mendoza, Argentina.
Taste Profile: Deep violet colour with purple reflections. Intense aroma, soft texture and concentrated flavour, with deep ripe red and dark fruit joined by delicate lavender notes and traces of vanilla and mocha. A rich, concentrated mouthfeel carries blueberry and blackberry flavours with a touch of leather and cinnamon, well-integrated tannins, bright acidity and a flinty minerality that lengthens the finish.
Winemaking Process: Extensive cold maceration for 5 days at 8.8°C to extract aroma, then fermented for 12 days with wild yeasts and a post-fermentation maceration of 19-22 days. Aged 12 months in barrel.
Winemaker: Bodega Catena Zapata was founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, and it was his grandson Nicolas Catena Zapata who, from the 1980s, drove the research into high-altitude Mendoza terroir that put Argentine Malbec on the world map. Today his daughter, fourth-generation vintner Dr Laura Catena, leads the winery and its Catena Institute of Wine — alongside a career as a practising physician in California — while Alejandro Vigil, chief winemaker since 2002, became the first in South America to earn a 100-point score from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
