The freshest, most elegant and authentic expression of Verdejo — from the winemaker who took over from her own father.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Verdejo from 30-year-old vineyards and a selection of old vines, in the highlands of the Duero River, Rueda, Spain, planted in rocky, organically poor soils under a harsh, variable continental climate typical of Valladolid province.
Taste Profile: Straw yellow colour with subtle green reflections. A complex, intense bouquet ranging from white peach and white stone fruit to lemon citrus, with nuances of fennel and balsamic aniseed over a stony mineral backbone. Unctuous and fresh on the palate, with crisp acidity, fruity flavours and a touch of bitterness at the end.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested at night to preserve the grapes' flavour in the cool temperatures. Cold maceration for 8–12 hours before pneumatic pressing, then fermented in stainless steel at low temperature. The wine matures on its lees for 4 months before filtration and bottling.
Winemaker: José Pariente began making small-batch Verdejo from his own Rueda vineyard in the 1960s. In 1998 his daughter Victoria Pariente took over, founding Bodegas José Pariente with a clear goal: to prove Verdejo could be more than a simple, fresh white — that it could age and evolve like any serious variety. The estate modernised its facilities in 2008, and today the next generation, Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente, carry the winery forward.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
