KSG Life Saperavi Late Harvest 2019
A limited-edition qvevri Saperavi from the private project of one of Georgia's most respected winemaking families.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Saperavi from vines in the Tsinandali sub-region of Kakheti, Georgia — the historic heartland of Georgian winemaking, along the Alazani river valley.
Taste Profile: Blackcurrant and berry fruit aromas carry a dusty, iodine-like minerality and a hint of chocolate. Full-textured with soft tannins and a beautiful balance, overflowing with berry compote flavours and subtle notes of roasted herbs and sun-dried tomato. Expressive and lingering, with a high alcohol content that stays remarkably well hidden. Drink now or cellar — this wine has real ageing potential, up to 20 years.
Winemaking Process: The fruit is left on the vine for a late harvest, then fermented and aged in qvevri, the traditional Georgian buried clay amphora, which lends the wine its earthy, mineral edge.
Winemaker: KSG Life is the private label of Temuri Dakishvili, fourth generation of a Georgian winemaking family based in the village of Shalauri near Telavi, where the Dakishvilis have grown grapes and made wine for nearly a century. Alongside this project Temuri serves as head winemaker at Teliani Valley, and this Saperavi's late-harvest timing — a calculated risk in Kakheti's climate — earned it a gold medal at the 2018 Qvevri Wine Competition.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
