A lake that stores the day's sunshine and releases it overnight makes this Austrian blend possible.
Grape Varietals & Region: 80% Zweigelt and 20% St. Laurent, organically farmed on loam, clay and limestone soils near Lake Neusiedlersee, Burgenland, Austria — the warmest region in the country for wine production, where the lake itself acts as a natural storage heater, absorbing daytime warmth and releasing it through the night.
Taste Profile: A dark ruby colour with a dense appearance. A lively nose of dark fruits, sour cherry, cinnamon and clove leads into a medium-bodied, light and refreshing palate with soft tannins, a silky mouthfeel and a hint of minerality, tasting of dark summer berries and cherries with subtle earthy, elegant spice.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-picked with a minimal-intervention philosophy: natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks with 10 days of maceration, then pressing and ageing in large, old, third-generation acacia wood barrels for 12 months.
Winemaker: Weingut Judith Beck was founded by Judith's parents, Matthias and Christine Beck, in 1976 in Gols, in the Neusiedlersee region of Burgenland, Austria, where the vast, shallow Lake Neusiedl moderates the climate and a warm Pannonian influence ripens the region's indigenous red grapes. After studying viticulture at Klosterneuburg and working at estates including Château Cos d'Estournel in Bordeaux, Judith made her first vintage in 2001 and took full control of the estate in 2004. She began converting the vineyards to biodynamics in 2007, certified in 2010, and now farms with native yeasts, no fining or filtering, and minimal sulphur, focusing on the indigenous Austrian and Hungarian varieties the region is known for.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
