Rainbow's End Cabernet Franc Blanc de Noir 2026
A Cabernet Franc vineyard too cool and too slow to ripen into red wine, redirected instead into one of Stellenbosch's most vivid rosés.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Cabernet Franc (clone 312 on Richter 101/14 rootstock), from a lower-lying, cooler block on the Malan family's Rainbow's End estate in Stellenbosch's Coastal Region — a site that struggles to reach full ripeness for their standard red Cabernet Franc, and so is given over entirely to rosé instead.
Taste Profile: White flowers and freshly sliced apple on the nose, with bright, lingering fruit and a streak of ruby grapefruit; dry, with a refreshing but subtle acidity and a hint of minerality on the finish. Good with sushi, salmon, or a watermelon, rocket and feta salad.
Winemaking Process: Hand-picked and kept cool (12–14°C) from vineyard to cellar, destemmed and very lightly crushed, then pressed extremely gently — just two cycles to 1 bar — for the palest possible colour. Fermented slowly and cool over two weeks with no wood and no acid additions, so the wine's acidity is entirely natural, then bottled about a week after fermentation finished.
Winemaker: Rainbow's End has belonged to the Malan family since 1978, though the first vines weren't planted until 2000; brothers Anton (winemaker) and Francois Malan (viticulturist) now run the estate, which was one of South Africa's first to bottle a single-varietal Cabernet Franc. Anton treats each vintage on its own terms rather than chasing a house style — this Blanc de Noir began as a practical fix for a vineyard that couldn't ripen into red wine, and became one of the estate's most distinctive bottlings instead.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
