Mythology meets concrete eggs — a fiercely artistic Cinsault from old Stellenbosch bush vines, finished with an actual sliver of tiger's eye stone.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Cinsault, created from 16-year-old bush vines in the Bottelary Hills, Stellenbosch, South Africa. Eye of the Tiger forms part of the winery's "Le Béton" series, where the wine is matured in a Cellier concrete egg, adding a level of complexity, integration, and minerality not otherwise achievable. The grapes were hand-picked and crushed into open-top fermenters, with three pump-overs daily and one complete délestage during fermentation.
Taste Profile: Bright and red fruit-laden, the wine displays a youthful elegance typical of Le Béton ageing. A bold Cinsault that embodies the perfect blend of strength and grace — vibrant red fruit character with the textural depth that concrete-egg maturation brings, without any heaviness from oak. A beautiful accompaniment to roasted pork with crackling and mascarpone mash; best served slightly chilled.
Winemaking Process: The wine was pressed before complete dryness, at 2° Balling, then aged for 5 months in French oak barrels, after which it was sent to a 1,600-litre concrete egg to mature for an additional 6 months. The egg itself was finished on the exterior to resemble tiger's eye stone — a literal embodiment of the wine's name and storytelling concept.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
