Description
Judith Beck Hunny Bunny 2021
Judith Beck Hunny Bunny is a light and tasty red wine that still manages to be complex. Pinkish-red colour in the glass. Burst of bright red fruit on the nose, oodles of sour cherry flavour, creamy floral notes and a mouth-cleansing acidity on the palate. Utterly delicious, filled with life and energy.
Â
Fun Fact: The No Sexual Services Pink Bunny label is a photo that Uli (Judith’s other half) took in the streets of Tokyo. They added the “Hunny Bunny” and the Beck logo – everything else is the original photo. The wine itself is serious fun, but not in the least bit kinky!
100% Blaufränkisch. Judith Beck winery is near lake Neusiedlersee, the warmest region of Austria for wine production. The lake acts as a natural storage heater, storing the warmth of the sunshine during the day and releasing it through the night. The fruit for this wine comes from vines growing sandy loam and gravel in Judith's cooler densely-planted Schafleiten vineyard site.
Manual harvesting of the fruit. Whole bunch maceration for 3 days in stainless steel. Undergoes ambient fermentation with its own yeasts before ageing on fine lees in old wooden vats of 4,000L for 6 months. No filtering or fining before bottling.
