Vosne-Romanée Grand Cru farming, poured into the most everyday appellation in Burgundy.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir, declassified fruit farmed to the same standard as Gros Frère et Sœur's Grand Cru holdings (Richebourg, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux, Clos de Vougeot) but bottled under the generic Bourgogne appellation. The domaine was formed in 1963 when Gustave and Colette Gros combined their inherited shares of father Louis Gros's Vosne-Romanée estate; nephew Bernard Gros now runs the 20-hectare property across eight appellations.
Taste Profile: A genuinely impressive level of complexity for its appellation tier — the kind of "declassified Grand Cru farming" bottling that serious Burgundy drinkers specifically hunt for, since the fruit quality far outstrips the humble label.
Winemaking Process: Hand-picked, traditionally vinified and aged roughly a year in French oak — the same core process the domaine applies to its top wines, just scaled to a small, everyday cuvée.
Winemaker: Bernard Gros treats every parcel at Gros Frère et Sœur with the same care, whether it's headed for a Grand Cru label or the estate's most basic Bourgogne bottling. We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
