Pouilly-Fuissé's overlooked neighbour, from a family that started as sharecroppers on the land they now own.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay, sourced from Domaine Carrette's 13 hectares spread across five Mâconnais communes — Vergisson, Solutré-Pouilly, Davayé, Chasselas and Berzé-la-Ville — with roughly 40 separate parcels feeding into the estate's various cuvées. The domaine sits in Vergisson, at the foot of the limestone escarpment known as the Rock of Solutré, right in the heart of Pouilly-Fuissé country, though this particular bottling is the more accessible Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine appellation.
Taste Profile: Floral and nutty aromatics up front, giving way to ripe fruit with rich, buttery tones and a briny, saline edge. Long and juicy on the palate, with fresh acidity and elegant minerality keeping the richness in check. Good with mixed salads, sushi, or poultry and veal in cream sauce.
Winemaking Process: Traditional Mâconnais Chardonnay winemaking, built around the estate's forty-parcel patchwork — different soils and microclimates blended to build complexity rather than relying on any single vineyard.
Winemaker: Henri Carrette bought this land in 1980 while working it as a sharecropper, putting his son Jean-Michel in charge of building the estate up from there. Today it's Jean-Michel's son Hervé and his oenologist wife Natalie running the domaine — three generations deep into turning what started as rented land into one of the more quietly reliable addresses in the Mâconnais.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
