An "entry-level" Cabernet that's anything but — built from historic, regeneratively farmed vineyards by one of California's great old-vine champions.
Grape Varietals & Region: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Malbec and Cabernet Franc, sourced primarily from the Bedrock Vineyard and Lazy Dog Vineyard, with declassified fruit from the Montecillo and Monte Rosso single-vineyard sites, all in Sonoma County, California. In 2025, the winery's core Bedrock Vineyard was certified Regenerative Organic, making it one of the leaders in progressive farming in the world. Cabernet did brilliantly in the extended 2023 growing season, developing loads of colour and richness while holding onto great freshness and perfume.
Taste Profile: Meant to be an entry-level wine, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is positively stellar — black cherry, gravel, lavender, mocha, liquorice, and spice are all dialled up. In its first vintages this bottling was made from leftovers, but in 2023 the approach was more deliberate, and it shows. It has classic scents of cassis, bell pepper, cigar box, chocolate, aniseed, and graphite, with a full-bodied palate pairing firm, pleasurably grippy tannins with concentrated, nuanced flavours, balanced by juicy acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. Rated 92pts by James Suckling, 92pts by Jeb Dunnuck, and 92–94pts by Vinous. Drink now or cellar for 5–10 years.
Winemaking Process: Fermented in open-top tanks using indigenous yeasts, this was aged in smaller 225- and 228-litre barrels of which only 10% were new — showcasing the wonderful perfume of currants, mulberry, and cedar of classic Sonoma Valley Cabernet combined with the richness of the 2023 vintage. Winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson wanted really well-farmed, organic fruit as a base for this entry-level Cabernet Sauvignon, with much of the remaining fruit declassified from the Monte Rosso and Montecillo single-vineyard Cabernets

Bedrock Wine Co. was started in 2007 by Morgan Twain-Peterson. Working out of a small converted chicken coop in a friend’s backyard, Morgan focused on making personality-filled wines wrought from a small array of thoughtfully farmed vineyards.

Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
