What's unique about the 2021 vintage is that it celebrates the anniversary of David Herd's final vintage with the addition of a portion of the only remaining bottle of his 1905 wine.
The finest wine infused with a remarkable 100+ year old wine from Auntsfield. This is wine with roots that reach back into the past. Only a few of the very best barrels of the vintage were hand crafted as a tribute to David Herd who established Marlborough’s first vineyard and winery at Auntsfield in the 1870’s.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from Southern Valleys in Marlborough, New Zealand. This wine comes from specific blocks on the steep clay hillsides of Auntsfield.
Taste Profile: Deep ruby, very intense. Savoury and complex aromas of exotic spices, dark berry fruits and floral notes. Hints of cocoa and roasted almonds.
The palate is immensely dense and concentrated and shows an elegant complexity. Luscious dark fruit flavours integrating gamey spice. The wine has an intense depth and yet silky fine tannin structure, giving seamless length and many years of aging potential.
Winemaking Process: The fruit is hand harvested and gravity fed into an open top oak vessel with a proportion of fruit being whole bunch fermented. This was hand plunged once fermentation begins. The wine was kept on skins for an extended period following fermentation before being aged in oak for 14 months.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
