Piedmont's everyday hero, done with real finesse — juicy, food-friendly, and from a family that's been doing this since 1880.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Barbera, at 13.5% alcohol, from estate vineyards in the Langhe, Piedmont, Italy — produced under the Barbera d'Alba DOC. Ascheri's vineyards span La Morra, Serralunga d'Alba, Verduno, and Bra, all within the prestigious Langhe area of northern Piedmont, about 60km south of Turin. Matteo Ascheri and his son Giuseppe subscribe to a winemaking philosophy of non-intervention, using technology in moderation, with the goal of capturing the most faithful expression of the vineyard, with respect to the wine's elegance, finesse, natural concentration, and balance.
Taste Profile: Deep ruby red colour with violet nuances. Complex, intense bouquet of blackberries, plums, fruit jam, and spices. Round, harmonious, complex palate — full and ripe but fresh and tasty at the same time, a remarkably classy wine endowed with finesse. As an aperitif or with starters, the bitter notes and dry finish whet the appetite and prepare diners to savour the meal. Ideal served with soups, pasta, red and white roasted meats, game, and mild cheeses.
Winemaking Process: Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the lively fruit aromas and freshness of the wine — a style choice that keeps the focus squarely on Barbera's vivid fruit and natural acidity rather than oak influence. Wines are aged in large casks, true to the estate's long-held philosophy of minimal intervention and maximum fidelity to the vineyard

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
