Italo Cescon "TesiRare Rabia" Raboso del Piave "Creta" 2018
A local grape, Raboso, beautifully expressed through amphora and oak.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Raboso del Piave from clayey soils of Piave in Veneto, Italy. This grape, which provides plenty of colour, structure and a fresh cherry flavour, is patiently grown at Italo Cescon; the wine matures in wood and amphora, but retains the grape's unique character.
Taste Profile: Packed with fresh red fruit, green herbs and a pleasant freshness.
Winemaking Process: After crushing, destemming and selecting out non-compliant grapes on the sorting table, the wine undergoes cryomaceration for 6 days in amphora, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in amphora with indigenous yeasts, on its own skins. It matures for 330 days in amphora, then is racked and aged for 24 months in new oak barrels, bottled unfiltered and further aged for 24 months.
Winemaker: Italo Cescon founded his winery in Ormelle, in the Piave area of Treviso province, in 1957, following the path of his grandfather Domenico, a Raboso del Piave producer. Where most local growers sold in bulk, Italo chose from the start to bottle his entire production, earning a loyal following among the osterie and restaurants of Treviso thanks partly to the estate's distinctive Tralcetto bottle and rustic, hand-written label. After flood damage to the Piave river in 1967, the family relocated to their current farm in Roncadelle, and the estate has since grown to around 110 hectares, 16 of which converted to organic farming in 2009. Since the 1990s, Italo's children Gloria, Graziella and Domenico have carried the winery forward with the same drive their father instilled in them. TesiRare is the estate's biodynamic, minimal-intervention line, built around letting each vine's site and vintage speak for itself with barely a nudge from the cellar.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
