VIK La Piu Belle 2022
A homage to art, to the importance of art at VIK and to the art of winemaking itself.
Grape Varietals & Region: 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Carmenère and 8% Syrah, from VIK's vineyards in the Cachapoal Valley, Chile. The deep, porous, decomposed granitic soils drain well, and a temperate Mediterranean climate carries a marine influence from the Pacific.
Taste Profile: Bright magenta colour. Ripe raspberry, fresh violet and gentle lavender unfurl from the glass. The round palate carries dynamic tannins, bright acidity and richly concentrated flavours of black cherry compote, lush blackberry, juicy redcurrant and plum, layered with rich coffee and mocha through an almost endless finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested and sorted, then gently pressed. Ages 23 months in barrel, 45% of it new Barroir oak (French barrels toasted with local wood), with around 15% of the wine also aged 8 months in amphorae made from local clay. Best from 2025, and worth decanting an hour before serving or cellaring up to 20 years.
Winemaker: Viña VIK was founded in 2006 by Norwegian entrepreneur Alexander Vik and his wife Carrie, who spent years searching before settling on 4,300 hectares in the Millahue Valley — Mapuche for “place of gold” — within Chile's Cachapoal Valley. Chilean winemaker Cristián Vallejo, previously of Château Margaux, was brought in to oversee viticulture and continues to harvest by hand and ferment with native yeasts, while the estate's striking winery, designed by architect Smiljan Radic, mirrors the ambition behind the wine.
About the Label
The label's charismatic, eccentric artwork is Chilean painter Gonzalo Cienfuegos's interpretation of Freya, the mythical Norse goddess — the wine's very name, La Piu Belle, translates as “the most beautiful.”

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
