Casarena Owen Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2021
A high-altitude Luján de Cuyo vineyard, harvested in three separate passes to coax out every layer of aroma.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay from the Owen vineyard, part of Casarena's Single Vineyard collection showcasing the soil diversity of Luján de Cuyo. The vineyard sits at 960 metres above sea level, first planted in 1993, with a wide variety of soils ranging from deep clay to shallow boulders mixed with clay and sand.
Taste Profile: Clean and bright yellow in colour, with greenish tints. Green apple and lemon citrus lead the nose, with floral nuances of orange and pear blossom. Complex and balanced on the palate, with excellent natural acidity and mouthwatering, opulent flavours of lemon curd, pineapple, cream and subtle vanilla. Ageing potential of 10+ years.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-harvested across three separate passes to build aromatic complexity, followed by double cluster selection and pre-fermentation cold maceration. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts, with 50% of the must fermented in French oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel, with batonnage keeping the lees in suspension so the wine gains volume and weight in the mouth.
Winemaker: Casarena began in 2007, when the current team refurbished a century-old family winery building — first raised in 1937 — in the heart of Perdriel, just twenty minutes from Mendoza city. The name fuses "casa" and "arena," a nod to the sand-coloured stone winery and the sandy soils it sits on. Casarena farms multiple distinct estates across Luján de Cuyo, each with its own altitude, orientation and soil profile, giving its agroenological team a living laboratory for showing how differently the same grape can speak depending on exactly where it's grown.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
