Loveblock Pinot Noir 2022
Five different clones planted in ancient schist gravels, topped up with 10% fruit from the other end of the country.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir, primarily from Loveblock's family-owned estate on Bendigo Loop Road, Central Otago, New Zealand, where free-draining sandy loam sits over schist alluvium gravels known as Molyneux soils. The estate grows clones B777, B667, B115, Clone 5 (Pommard) and Abel; 10% of the fruit also comes from Loveblock Farm in Marlborough, adding extra red fruit character to the finished wine.
Taste Profile: A bright crimson colour, with big aromas of ripe black cherry and rich fruit alongside hints of mushroom and toasty oak spice. Dry and medium-bodied on the palate, with fleshy black plum, cherry and sweet berry flavours dancing with violets, cigar and savoury notes.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are machine-harvested and pumped straight to tank without crushing to preserve whole berries. After a 5-day cold soak, the must ferments with its own wild yeasts at 20°C, hand-plunged twice daily until dry. The wine then undergoes full malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, ages 8 months, and is sterile filtered before bottling.
Winemaker: Loveblock is the second act of Erica and Kim Crawford, the couple who built Kim Crawford Wines into one of New Zealand's biggest export brands before selling it to Constellation in 2006. A non-compete clause kept them out of winemaking until 2009, during which time they quietly developed a farm on Marlborough's east coast; when they finally launched Loveblock in 2014, they left the old virtual-winery model behind entirely, converting the property to certified organic farming from the ground up.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
