Loveblock Gewurztraminer 2021
Grown on an exposed, windswept hilltop the Crawfords chose specifically because it makes the vines struggle.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Gewürztraminer, sourced entirely from Loveblock's family-owned Hillside vineyard in Lower Dashwood, a 72-hectare site atop the hills overlooking the Awatere Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand. The elevation and windy location challenge the vines, while the soil's high clay content helps retain moisture in what is otherwise a harsh growing environment.
Taste Profile: A pale gold colour with hints of green. A distinctly Gewürztraminer nose, with an intense floral bouquet of rose and jasmine, a touch of sweet Turkish delight and orange zest. The off-dry palate has an oily texture, exuding guava, sweet mandarin and blood orange flavours.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are machine-harvested, then crushed, destemmed, must-chilled and pressed at the winery. Half of the juice sees about 6 hours of skin contact. The juice is floated, warmed and inoculated with aromatic yeast, then cold-fermented until the wine reaches balance, before being stabilised, filtered and bottled.
Winemaker: Loveblock is the second act of Erica and Kim Crawford, the couple who built Kim Crawford Wines into one of New Zealand's biggest export brands before selling it to Constellation in 2006. A non-compete clause kept them out of winemaking until 2009, during which time they quietly developed a farm on Marlborough's east coast; when they finally launched Loveblock in 2014, they left the old virtual-winery model behind entirely, converting the property to certified organic farming from the ground up.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
