Racy and 'salty', just like my ex.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling from the steep, 62-hectare Ürziger Würzgarten, a south- to southeast-facing site with a geological mix rare on the Mosel: reddish, stone-rich soil built largely from weathered volcanic rhyolite and conglomerate. That unusual geology gives Würzgarten wines an especially fine piquancy — full-fruited and mouth-filling, with clear structure and lively acid interplay.
Taste Profile: Clear, fresh, precise and surprisingly cool on an intense, concentrated nose of crunchy slate, herb and lemon. On the palate it's impressively complex, lush yet pure and refined, closing on a long, intense, concentrated and juicy finish laced with slate. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Oct 2020) called it "cool, precise and smoky... piquant and animating on the palate... a racy Würzgarten Spätlese with a delicate and almost salty finish," rating its drinking window 2024–2050.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are harvested in October, with 100% healthy berries gently crushed and given several hours of skin contact to extract aroma and minerals. The must ferments spontaneously and slowly at low temperature to allow complex fruit aromas to develop fully, before the wine is matured on its lees in wooden barrels for an extended period.
Winemaker: Markus Molitor took control of his family's Mosel property at just 20 years old in 1984 and built it, over four decades, into a 120-hectare estate — the largest privately-owned, family-run winery on the Mosel — with top sites across Wehlen, Zeltingen-Rachtig, Bernkastel and Ürzig. His Rieslings have twice scored a perfect 100 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, earning him the nickname 'Herr 300 Punkte.'

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
