Marqués de Tomares "Cohiba Atmosphere" Gran Reserva 2015
A Rioja Gran Reserva made in partnership with the Cohiba cigar house, built for the same slow, careful ageing both products demand.
Grape Varietals & Region: 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano, 2% Garnacha and 3% Viura, from the La Padul parcela 667 vineyards, planted between 1920 and 1960 on clayey, calcareous, ferrous alluvial soil at 700 metres altitude, in Rioja Alta, Spain.
Taste Profile: Creamy red fruit on the palate, with moderate acid and good grip. The tannins are rustic but clearly polished by time in bottle — a complex, genuinely good Gran Reserva Rioja.
Winemaking Process: 100% destemmed grapes, fermented under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, then aged 30 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by a further 36 months in bottle before release.
Winemaker: The Montaña family has grown grapes in Rioja Alta since 1886, and Don Román Montaña founded the Marqués de Tomares winery in 1910, laying the foundations of a house built on careful blending and slow maturation in barrel and bottle. The winery remains family-run today by his grandchildren, farming nearly 106 hectares across Haro, Fuenmayor and the surrounding Rioja Alta, many of the vines over a century old. Cohiba Atmosphere pairs that century of winemaking tradition with the equally exacting standards of Cuban cigar-making, in a joint release intended for collectors of both.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
