An unashamedly powerful expression of Napa Valley, wherever your glass finds you.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with fruit drawn from both valley floor and mountain vineyards across Napa Valley, California.
Taste Profile: Deep garnet-purple colour. A seamless assortment of classic Napa Cabernet aromas — cassis, black cherry, chaparral and a touch of butterscotch. The expressive palate is unashamedly powerful, with ripe raspberry, crème caramel, bay leaf and red and black currant carrying real weight through the finish, its prominent tannins built to soften with time. Best decanted an hour before serving.
Winemaking Process: Ages 12 months in French oak, 38% new, drawing on fruit from a 2017 vintage year that Orin Swift navigated through heat spikes and wildfire smoke to still land a Cabernet true to its region.
Winemaker: Orin Swift Cellars was founded in 1998 by a then 24-year-old Dave Phinney, who named the winery for his father's middle name (Orin) and his mother's maiden name (Swift). His breakout came with The Prisoner in 2000, after which Phinney built a run of unconventional blends wrapped in darkly artful, gothic labels that have made him one of Napa's most recognisable names.
About the Label
David Phinney's most haunting label features a mummified priest in a red cape and black biretta, photographed by National Geographic's Vincent J. Musi in a 16th-century catacomb in Palermo, Sicily, after which the wine is named. “There is such a sense of power and dignity to the image, which is how we think about great Cabernet,” Phinney has said, describing Palermo as his “most approachable Cabernet” and “a true representation of Napa.”

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
