Weingut Emmerich Knoll

There is hardly another vineyard that has shaped the perception of the Wachau as a serious high-quality wine-growing region as strongly as that of the Knoll family

Description

A selection from the best sites of Loibenberg, Kellerberg and Kreutles

The typical exoticism of the Vinothek filling paired with immense pressure and fullness. There is passion fruit, mango, a fine hint of overripe pineapple behind it, ripe pear, botrytis is in play.

Only a few wineries worldwide are representative of an entire region with their wines, as is the case with Weingut Knoll. The wines with their enormous ageing potential enjoy cult status, as does the traditional label with the memorable baroque motif of St. Urban, which has been used since the 1962 vintage. It is the patron saint of winegrowers. Siegfried Stoitzner, who lived with Emmerich Knoll's uncle on Loibner Hof, painted many Wachau pictures and also the image of St. Urban. The statue in the village church of Unterloiben served as a model.
