Slovenian Pinot Noir from a family that has farmed the same hills since 1820.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir grown on the Movia estate in Slovenia's Brda region, where warm Mediterranean influences meet cool Alpine breezes.
Taste Profile: Ripe red berries, cherries and subtle floral notes, with hints of cedar and roasted hazelnuts. A harmonious blend of fruit, silky tannins and well-balanced acidity leads to a long, satisfying finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are destemmed and fermentation begins on the skins with indigenous yeasts. Once fermentation finishes, the wine is pressed and racked into barriques, ageing for 48 months in French oak.
Winemaker: Movia has been in the hands of the Kristančič family since 1820, with the estate itself dating back to 1700. Aleš Kristančič, the 8th generation to run Movia, trained in oenology in Veneto and interned at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Château Pétrus before returning home to Brda — a region straddling the Slovenia-Italy border. He began converting the estate to biodynamic farming in 1989, fully certified since 2005, and was among the first winemakers in the region to age wine in small French oak barriques.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
