Description
Kopke Tawny Port NV
Kopke Tawny Port is a rich and aromatic port wine with a balanced sweetness. Orange-brown colour. Aromas of vanilla and caramel from oak ageing combine with raisin and fig flavours on the palate, plus a hint of hazelnuts. The soft palate has a good balance and finish.
Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão and Touriga Franca.
Hand-harvesting of the fruit at their best moment. Destemming and crushing before vinification. Careful maceration in stainless-steel vats at a controlled temperature between 28-30ºC for extraction of colour, tannins and aromas of the pellicles, complemented by permanent pumping-over during fermentation. Maceration continues until it reaches the desired Baumé. At this phase, grape brandy is added (benefit), creating a fortified wine. Obtained by the lotation of wines with variable levels of maturation and sources, lead through the ageing in stainless-steel and wood for a minimum of 3 years.
