Podere il Cocco
Since 1700 the Cocco has been part of the property of the Bindi family who initially entrusted the management of the land to sharecropping. Dedicated to using organic & biodynamic principals, the company acts more like a farmhouse, than a sole winery
Description
Grappa is a type of Italian brandy that is distilled from the skins, pulp, seeds, and stems left over after winemaking.
This grappa is named after Giacomo Bindi's grandfather, who was a well-known winemaker in the region. It is a premium product that is best enjoyed as a digestif after a meal, served neat or on the rocks. Its smooth and elegant taste profile makes it a perfect accompaniment to rich and creamy desserts, as well as a variety of cheeses.
Grape varietal & region:Â The Cocco di Bindi Giacomo Grappa De Brunello is made using the pomace of Brunello grapes grown in the Tuscan region of Italy.Â
Taste profile: The classico style grappa has a crystal-clear appearance and a fragrant, delicate aroma with hints of wildflowers and ripe fruit. On the palate, it is smooth and refined with a clean, crisp finish. This grappa is made using traditional artisanal methods, distilled in copper stills and aged in oak barrels for at least six months. It is a perfect digestif, best served chilled or at room temperature.
The riserva style grappa is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months, which gives it a deep amber color and complex flavors of vanilla, caramel, and toasted nuts. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of fruity and floral notes, with hints of dried fruit and herbs.
