Bruno Lorenzon Bourgogne "Les 16 Ouvrees" 2022
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from Mercurey in the Cote Chalonnaise in Burgundy, France. 90% of the vines are located across about 4.5 hectares of vineyards in 1er Cru appellations of Mercurey and Montagny.
Bruno meticulously farms his vineyards in accordance with the viticulture practice of "lutte raisonnee" (reasoned struggle). Considered close to organic farming, this practice advocates for the non-reliance of chemicals in grape growing. As a result, all vines are treated without any synthetic chemicals. Additionally, yields are always kept low, and harvesting is done by hand in small crates.
Taste Profile: Subtle interweaving aromas of black cherry and strawberry, accompanied by floral notes reminiscent of violet. Light nuances of undergrowth add an intriguing layer of complexity to the aromatic profile. The wine unveils a silky texture and delicately melted tannins. Dominant flavors of ripe red fruits, especially cherry, reveal themselves with elegance. Perfectly balanced acidity brings a welcome freshness, while the persistent finish leaves a subtle imprint of vanilla, completing the ensemble with infinite finesse.
Winemaking Process: Vinified in self designed oak barrels
