Veramonte

Veramonte was founded by Agustin Huneeus, a Chilean wine pioneer and visionary who planted 40 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc in the Casablanca Valley in the late 1980s. At Viñedos Veramonte, the environment is a priority and all the estates are farmed organically. Winemaker Sofía Araya believes that it raises the quality of the wine with superior grapes from healthy, long-lived vineyards. The wines at Viñedos Veramonte are carefully crafted from estate owned organic grapes, in order to obtain the most authentic expression from its living soils.
Today, Veramonte is a part of González Byass, a family company founded in 1835 that has maintained their values for five generations.

Vineyards

Their organic vineyards are located in two of Chile's most recognized appelations; Casablanca, perfect for white wines and cold weather; and, Colchagua for reds. They follow organic and sustainable practices because they believe it is the only way to have healthy and expressive vineyards that transcend time and deliver pure fruit and wines that reflect the living soils from which they come.

CASABLANCA VALLEY
Veramonte Vineyards is located at the beginning of the Casablanca Valley, at the foot of the Coast Range. The vineyards are surrounded by 2,500 hectares of native forests, receive the breezes and morning fogs that blow from the Pacific Ocean, make them moderate temperatures and give the ideal conditions for growing white varieties (Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay) and reds of cold weather (Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah).

COLCHAGUA VALLEY
Veramonte Vineyards is in Marchigüe, a sector of the Valley that is only 45 kilometers from the Pacific coast. The property stands out for the combination of well-drained soils, with clay-loamy texture and rocky material that offer ideal conditions for growing varieties such as Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon.
