Envínate is a minimal intervention wine producer based in La Roda. The label was established in 2008 by four friends – Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos and José Martínez – who studied winemaking at the University of Miguel Hernández de Elx in Elche, in southeast Spain.
Envínate, which translates as "wine yourself", makes a range of wine from across western Spain, covering the Canary Islands, Galicia and the southeast. The wines produced are often a collaboration wit local winegrowers. Generally, Roberto focuses on covering the Canary Islands (Tenerife in particular), Alfonso on Riberia Sacra (Galicia),Laura on Murcia and José on Almansa.
Winemaking is generally very hands-off with minimal use of new oak and fermentation in concrete vessels or large-format oak tuns. Reds are often fermented with a significant portion of whole bunches and the wines are unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur additions.
